About
My passion for photography began over 40 years ago when my brother Michele bought his first reflex camera, a fully mechanical Petri MF101. I immediately developed an interest in aviation photography, influenced by the proximity of the 36th Fighter Wing base in my hometown.
Over the years, I followed the evolution of cameras, moving from mechanical to semi-electronic and finally to autofocus models. I became a member of the Albizzate photo club, where I found stimulating exchanges with other enthusiasts and external guests. Together with my friend Paolo, I created several audiovisuals and presented exhibitions, some in black and white thanks to my experience in the darkroom.
Photography allows me to freeze unique moments and reflect on the rapid pace of change. In recent years, my passion for flying has brought me closer to general aviation. Thanks to the Clipper association, I have photographed airplanes up close and obtained a glider pilot's license, starting to document silent flight. Photographing from one airplane to another is a challenge, but with pilots who are also photography enthusiasts, the results are thrilling.
The website is constantly expanding and updating. I hope my images resonate with you.
Enjoy,
Nicola Calò
